Dear Sir or Madam,
We would like to inform you about an important infrastructure project that will significantly enhance the stability, performance, and scalability of our services:
Retarus is relocating all network and infrastructure components currently hosted at DE2 to a new, state-of-the-art data center located in the greater Munich area.
This relocation will be carried out in carefully planned phases and with the utmost diligence. No action is required on your part as a Retarus customer.
Please rest assured that our high standards regarding information security, data privacy, and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations will continue to be fully observed throughout and after the relocation. These standards remain unchanged.
The new data center meets the latest security requirements and is certified in accordance with internationally recognized standards (e.g., ISO 27001, ISAE 3402). Your data remains fully protected with us.
The new data center location is used exclusively as a housing environment. All active components, such as servers and network devices, continue to be fully and exclusively operated and managed by Retarus.
Key Information at a Glance
No changes to customer-facing systems:
IP addresses, URLs, and all logical entities remain unchanged. Therefore, no migration effort is required on your end.
Highest standards of security and control:
All relocation activities will be carried out exclusively by Retarus employees. At no point will third parties have unsupervised access to any network or server components.
Seamless transition through clustering and redundancy:
The current and new data centers are interconnected via high-bandwidth, redundant links. All relevant systems operate in clustered configurations, allowing for a step-by-step migration without service interruptions.
Micro-outages may occur – typically unnoticeable:
During the migration, very short service interruptions (a few seconds) may occur as we perform failover and availability testing. These will be brief and are typically not perceptible to end users.
Automatic fallback to Frankfurt (DE1):
For the duration of the migration, select services will be rerouted to our Frankfurt (DE1) data center. Customers with redundant connections to both Munich and Frankfurt will automatically benefit from this failover.
Dedicated connections (e.g., Leased Lines):
Customers with direct physical connections to the current data center have already been informed individually. If you have any questions, please reach out to support@retarus.com.
